Inspire Brands Software Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

This Software Engineer must have a passion for software engineering and test automation. This role requires moderate supervision. As a Software Engineer you will work as part of a team to design, build, and support brand system applications while supporting the full development life cycle. Primary responsibilities will include software development, system/software configuration tasks, document creation, and test-driven development while debugging in-house software systems/applications that integrate with various technologies both inside the restaurant and the cloud. As an experienced professional, you are expected to understand the “bigger picture” while keeping business needs in mind while developing technical solutions. This role will participate in software design meetings to gather and analyze user needs to develop technical requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in small to medium-scale projects or assist on larger projects inclusive of participating in software design meetings and gathering/analyzing user needs to determine technical requirements

  • Develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products including configuring, customizing, diagnosing, and enhancing vendor systems software.

  • Maintain and develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms used at the restaurants.

  • Consult with end user(s) to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs. Participate in code reviews, best practices, pattern reviews.

  • Document technical details of coding projects through a standardized process of creating code comments, software architecture and flow diagrams.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-Year Degree in computer science or information technology or engineering-related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer

  • Developing and supporting back-end microservices in large-scale, highly transactional, and available technology platforms in cloud infrastructure

  • Experience working as part of an agile scrum team.

  • Experience in E-commerce Engineering in a restaurant or retail industry is a plus

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES

  • Must have a passion for software engineering and test automation

  • Must be a team player and able to work in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to think in terms of event-driven systems

  • Expertise in one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Go

  • Experience working with Agile, CI/CD

  • Ability to thrive in a fun, but fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Clear Communication, including the ability to create functional charts

  • Knowledge to build highly scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services

  • Ability to work with ambiguous problem definitions

  • Passion for learning new skills and working on high-impact products

  • Container technologies such as Docker

  • Experience in RESTful Microservices

  • Experience in API design, development, and management

  • Experience of shipping high-quality product features on schedule

This position sits within our Atlanta Support Center with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time
