Inspire Brands Senior Network Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

The Senior Network Engineer has key ownership of day-to-day activities within Inspire Brand’s Restaurant networks. This position has a very strong operational focus, requiring a disciplined senior-level engineer with meticulous troubleshooting and exceptional communication skills. This role will provide “hands and feet” support just as often as you will be remotely accessing systems. Operational excellence is expected and will be evidenced by results.

This position sits in our Atlanta Support Center, with the expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform any task deemed necessary for the successful design, build and/or operation of anything within our scope of responsibility.

  • Manage the ServiceNow ticket queues for the Retail Network team, driving requests from creation to completion.

  • Follow established processes, suggest improvements, and meet established OLAs/SLAs tied to operational support.

  • Interact with various IT teams, managed service providers, and vendors to understand requirements and troubleshoot outages.

  • Support VoIP telephony services.

  • Ability to plan and support technical conferences or vendor events as necessary.

  • Create change controls and defend them for approval at Change Review Board meetings.

  • Monitor network services and respond to alerts. Identify any trends or irregular activities and escalate to leadership.

  • Create and maintain up-to-date documentation and network diagrams.

  • Perform asset management and maintain hardware inventory.

  • Ensure licensing compliance across firewalls, switches, and access points.

  • Identify opportunities for improved efficiency in automation and scripting.

  • Provide guidance on network decisions across the family of brands.

  • Perform labbing, QA, and proof of concept activities as required.

  • Configuration of equipment for new stores, RMA defective devices, and inventory tracking of hardware required.

  • Management of vendors, MSPs, and other partners to ensure ongoing operational efficiency.

  • Track and report on daily and weekly objectives submitted to the manager.

  • Daily maintenance and housekeeping duties including cleaning up unnecessary equipment boxes, sorting, and taking inventory, and shipping equipment.

  • Provide after-hours support as needed.

  • Provide ad-hoc support for projects as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year Degree in IT or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

  • CCNA or preferably CCNP-level of knowledge expected in networking theory, although active certifications are not required.

  • Cloud and automation certifications are a plus.

  • Minimum 5+ years as a Network Engineer/Admin in an operational capacity.

  • 2+ years supporting VoIP systems.

  • 7+ years within the IT field in an enterprise environment.

  • Demonstrable history of success with customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry relevant experience a plus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, or ABILITIES

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing.

  • CCNP-level of general networking knowledge (upper mid-level skills, a master of fundamentals and largely considered a subject matter expert).

  • Complete understanding of TCP/IP protocols and the OSI model.

  • Ability to fully configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers regardless of platform due to your mastery of networking fundamentals.

  • Skilled with Cisco IOS, IOS-XR, Nexus, FTD, and ASA code.

  • Skilled with Fortinet Security Fabric. (FortiGate, FortiAP, FortSwitches, FortiCloud, FortiManager, FortiADC, FortiAnalyzer)

  • Skilled with Meraki MX Firewalls, MS Switches, and MR APs

  • Skilled with Cradlepoint Netcloud

  • Complete knowledge of VPN encryption technologies (IPSEC, RA).

  • Ability to support or quickly learn Azure, AWS, and GCP networks.

  • Knowledge of Network Access Control technologies.

  • Working knowledge of other IT facets like Server, DB, Storage, Security, Cloud, etc. to “see the big picture”.

  • Highly developed analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems using a methodical troubleshooting approach.

  • Ability to interpret packet captures and take action based on the data.

  • Ability to maintain focus and resolve when priorities rapidly and often change under pressure.

  • Ability to manage small projects.

  • Strong technical documentation skills.

  • Ability to create aesthetic Visio diagrams.

  • Ability to learn new technologies independently.

  • Expected, Usable Knowledge – Scripting and automation.
